Maillot Jaune Mens Combination Leader Jersey by Santini

The Combination Points leader classification was an exciting part of the Tour, run from 1968 to 1989. For every category (GC, Climber, Sprinter) points were given to riders as they crossed the line – 1 point to first, 2 to second and so on. At the end of the Tour, the rider with the lowest total was awarded this jersey to represent the best all-rounder. The look was most iconic, perhaps, in 1985 when Greg Lemond wore the jersey as part of the legendary La Vie Claire squad. This competition could help recognize the riders who work so very hard for the eventual GC winners (see Wout Van Aert) but do not end up with a moment on the podium. Regardless, the look was undeniably eye-catching. It would be a joy to see the competition reintroduced, but at least we’ll always have the jersey. 2023/24 Mont Ventoux: One of the most brutal mountains in the midst of the most glorious celebrations. The Tour de France has visited Ventoux 16 times finishing on the summit for ten of those occasions. The red and white striped tower, visible for miles in every direction is the target that all riders will take aim at. While known as perhaps the most vicious climb in the Tour, due to it’s exposure and lack of any respite, the Mont is also beloved as so many cyclists try to top the Giant every year. Our jersey dedicated to Mont Ventoux was deigned to reference the 1955 colours of the landscape surrounding the ‘Giant of Provence’, taking inspiration from the third and final Tour win of Louison Bobet, noted for his outstanding solo win finishing on the summit of the climb.
